RE: School Calendar Update

During last night’s board meeting, it was decided that the district should move to a temporary remote schedule.  As always the safety of our students remains our top priority.  Though many factors contributed to this decision, the main factor was our inability to properly staff the building while adhering to our very stringent safety standards.  We expect this will be a short-term pause of in-person instruction through Monday, December 7th.

Below are the updates to the calendar.

  • Friday, November 20 - No School - Remote Planning Day (Teacher In-Service Day)
  • Monday, November 23 - Remote Learning Day
  • Tuesday, November 24 - Remote Learning Day
  • November 25-27 - No School, Thanksgiving Break
  • November 30 - December 4 - Remote Learning Day
  • Wednesday, December 2 - Remote Learning Day
  • Monday, December 7 - Return to In-Person Instruction
  • Wednesday, December 9 - Remote Learning Day
  • Friday, December 18 - Remote Learning Day

Remote attendance times and Parent Teacher Conferences will be scheduled by your student’s teacher.  These conferences will be held virtually on December 2 or December 9 from 3:30 - 7:00.

We remain committed to providing a safe in-person learning environment for our students. Our goal is to get the students back in school as soon as possible. We will continue to work with the Illinois Department of Public Health and our local health agencies and look forward to the safe return of our students.

I would also like to thank you for your understanding and patience during these difficult times.  I wish you and your families a safe and healthy Thanksgiving.  I will keep you posted as the district continues to analyze the situation.  Please feel free to contact the school offices with any questions.
