and Learning
Strategic
Goal Statement:
Provide personnel, materials, and
technological resources to develop, implement, and support an integrated,
coherent and rigorous curriculum with relevant instruction and assessment
frameworks.
Strategic
Action Statements:
- Maximize
instructional time to its fullest extent.
- Investigate
options to maintain and enhance the fine arts program;
- Improve
teacher and parental understanding of what is expected of curriculum and
instruction at each grade level and content;
- Evaluate
and implement assessments that coordinate curriculum and enhance
instruction;
- Develop
and maintain consistent instructional frameworks that support student’s
ability and aptitude;
- Expand
the before and after school programs;

a system that allows for changes to curriculum and instructional

Finance
Strategic

Maintain long term fiscal responsibility
and health while improving the quality of programs and expanding opportunities
for children.

and communicate an assessment of the current financial state of the
district with a focus on sources
and limitations of funding, the uses of funding and a historical look at
the factors that impact funding;
- Actively
participate in organizations to lobby for and facilitate school funding;

insurance costs while maintaining adequate coverage and employee benefits

Optimize use of resources to support
student development and ensure vigorous, long term planning capacity through
enhanced public and private support, and strong community partnerships.

resources to support the strategic plan, provide safe learning
environments, close learning gaps, and accelerate academic achievement for
every student;
- Maintain,
establish, and build relationships with businesses in the community by
fostering partnership agreements and securing additional resources to
support teaching and learning including alternative sources of funding.
Facilities
Strategic
Goal Statement:
Provide safe, healthy, functional
facilities that incorporate community needs and educational services for all
stakeholders.
Action
Statement:
- Create a
Facilities Maintenance Committee to conduct a comprehensive facilities
audit and develop a five-year maintenance schedule that includes
restoration, remodeling, and upgrades to facilities;
- Establish
a Facilities Planning Committee that investigates the
feasibility/advisability of constructing of a new, replacement, and/or
addition to a school building to adequately and appropriately address
district needs;
- Develop a
long-range facilities plan that meets current and anticipated enrollment
and programming needs;
- Devise
more storage options for classrooms and start to de-clutter/dispose of
obsolete materials;
- Evaluate
and monitor safe and efficient arrival and dismissal procedures;
- Continue
to monitor and utilize current and alternative energy practices.
Public/Community Relations
Strategic Goal Statement:
Promote an accepting and trustworthy
environment committed to fostering active citizenship and positive involvement
within the school district and community.
Action
Statements:
- Create
and promote a public relations motto;
- Increase
school/community partnerships;
- Collaborate
with ELL families to create a diverse, welcoming school environment;
- Increase
reciprocal communication between school and families.
Human
Resources
Strategic Goal Statement:
Attract, retain, and develop a diverse,
high quality staff that reinforces the district’s commitment to provide a
quality education for all students.
Action
Statements:
- Attract
high quality candidates with an emphasis on those with multiple
endorsements;
- Increase
PD to enhance the integration of instructional technology;
- Create
performance evaluation systems that lead to improved teaching and
learning;
- Perform
an ongoing review of our compensation to make sure it is aligned with
districts of similar demographics;
- Enhance
the reward/recognition system for all staff.
- Review
all job descriptions to eliminate overlap in responsibilities
- Develop a
consistent district wide hiring process and protocols
